Requirements
· You will need a desire to help people improve their health and wellbeing;
· You will need a desire to study and learn in the classroom and at home; one thing we require is Motivation!
· Book of anatomy to be bought; Pilates Anatomy – 2nd Edition by Rael Isacowitz and Karen Clippinger, published by Human Kinetics.
· A minimum of experience in sport and Pilates is mandatory.
· Each student has to take part in 15 classes at HotYoga&Pilates Malta ( free of charge).
MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH PILATES
Pilates has proved to be one of the most useful forms of exercise I've learned in the 30 years I've been actively interested in health and fitness. As a dancer and a person interested in health and fitness, it helped me from a technical point of view with everything else I teach and seeing the difference it made to my clients' health and wellbeing has been particularly rewarding.
Seven years ago I was in a really “bad status” as I was diagnosed with a herniated disc.
At that time I was at beginning of my professional dancing career and different doctors told me: “if you will keep on dancing you will end up in a bad situation”; I have tried different treatments, some of them painful. It looked at the beginning they worked and the pain was gone, but as soon as I tried to dance again, I was getting back to the starting point.
It was after years of trying anything that I started doing Pilates and I was amazed to see how after only 4 sessions I was much better.
Since then I understood that more people needed to know how “WOW” this technique IS and I decided to let it become MY MISSION more than a job.
I said to myself: can you imagine if not only me but more people could know what I know; how many people more could I help then?
Not only I have reaped the benefits of personal practice, but I've had a tremendously rewarding career and I'd like to help you do the same by passing on the knowledge I've gained over the years.

· for anyone who wants to set up a business as a Pilates Matwork teacher.
· existing teachers who would also like to offer Pilates or
· students who want an in-depth knowledge of Pilates
Included in the price you will get:
An online platform including anatomy videos, technical descriptions and videos about the execution and variations of each exercise.
Unlimited free Pilates classes at HotYoga& Pilates Malta for the whole duration of the course.
Free use of the studio for self-practice (accordingly to the timetable of other classes).
1 teaching class at HotYoga&Pilates Malta; after the diploma, each student is entitled to work as a trainee for one Pilates class (time and date to be arranged).
Masterclasses of Pilates with Physiotherapists and guest teachers.
What will you learn?
· the complete classical exercises from beginner to intermediate level so that you can become proficient at the exercises
· the theory, anatomy and physiology to enable you to teach safely and effectively
· how to break down and modify each exercise for every level and variations for special populations
· how to identify faulty postures and prescribe the exercises
· teaching techniques to enable you to teach all types of learners
· all the practicalities of setting up your classes including marketing
· ways to put sequences together to keep your classes fresh and exciting
Calendar
Saturdays 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Sundays 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Attendance is mandatory. Only for serious issues classes can be missed.
Program
· History of Pilates – Joseph Pilates;
· Pre-Pilates and fundamentals of the technique;
· Basic Anatomy & physiology to enhance understanding*;
· Pathologies (most common pathologies that Pilates can be used as a treatment);
· How to make a pre-test to clients in case of Pathologies to better create a personalised program;
· Pilates Matwork exercises from beginners to intermediate level;
· Advanced teaching skills ( how to cue exercises; where to stand when teaching; how to demonstrate exercises).
Be prepared to teach in your first week! You will therefore be required to learn how to create a class and be able to lead up students;
· How to create interesting and balanced sequences;
· Health and safety screening;
· Tools to build clientele and marketing.
Exam:
The course will end with an exam (on the last day of the course).
The exam consists of a written part which includes theory and anatomy and a practical exam which consists of teaching a class.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The cost of the course is € 1500 VAT included. Early bird discount, 200 euros! (click on “Apply Now” for more info).
WHEN TO PAY THE FEE
A deposit of € 500 (not refundable) needs to be paid at the moment of the application. The rest of the fee can be paid in instalments before the day of the exam. HotYoga& Pilates Malta offers unlimited Pilates classes for the whole duration of the course. Attendance of 15 classes is mandatory! Weekends cannot be missed unless for serious reasons!
HotYoga&Pilates Malta Active members are eligible for a 10% discount on the total course fee.
In order to get a diploma students will be requested to successfully pass a theory and practical test. An attendance certificate will be issued in case of failure. The test can be repeated 2 times in total (free of charge). For further trials, a 50 euros fee will be applied.

Is this diploma internationally recognised?
Students ask me this question quite often. Most of the time because they plan to travel and use the knowledge acquired abroad. The answer I give all the time is: THERE ISN'T ANY DIPLOMA INTERNALLY RECOGNISED!
When you see an advertisement about international diplomas, unfortunately, they are saying something that is not true! Every single country has specific laws when it comes to teaching Yoga, Pilates and Fitness.
What is easy to do is finding a school/entity that is entitled to issue diplomas recognised by the country you are in and ask to validate yours; they usually ask for a fee that could go from €50 to €100.
What counts is the knowledge you acquire in a course and the ability you have to deliver a class.
